Subject: any (depending on the questions you create)
Grade: all (changing the difficulty of the math questions)
Age: all

Submitted by: Brenda Essig, a teacher from Pennsylvania.

What You Need:

What You Do:

  1. Bring those summer blues into your classroom.

  2. Blow up a beach ball and write questions or problems on it with a permanent marker.

  3. For example, 2x2, What is the capital of Oregon?

  4. Throw the beach ball to a child in the classroom and the person who catches it must answer that question or problem.

  5. I usually have them answer the question by telling them, "When you catch the ball whatever question is the nearest to your left hand you must answer."

  6. The children have a "ball" with this learning game.
