EGG CARTON CATERPILLAR

What You Need:

What You Do:

  1. Watch the video or read the book.

  2. Take the egg cartons and cut them so each child has a section three eggs long.

  3. Encourage your students to attach pipe cleaners for antennas, glue eyes on and color with markers.

  4. When finished, they can put their caterpillars in brown paper sacks and attach them to a bulletin board

  5. Count down for 14 days.

  6. On the 14th day your students can make a tissue paper butter fly by gluing down sections of tissue paper to the sheet of wax paper.

  7. When the tissue paper is dry, they can cut it into the shape of a butterfly.

  8. Replace their paper sacks with the newly dried butterfly.
