Teaching Tip

Visit a local art museum and let the child's interest guide the visit.

Focus on animals, oceans, or facial expressions. Then move the discussion to the artist and where he/she came from.

Look for other paintings by that artist.

As you do this, your child gets used to looking at art, plus gains familiarity with some names of artists.
