Teaching Tip
I explain to kindergarten students that people have been making art for longer than they have lived in houses.
Then we make cave drawings by cutting apart a brown paper bag and crumpling it to imitate a rock wall.
Children use oil pastels to outline shapes they see formed by the wrinkles, and crayons to color them in.
