Activity Summary:
Children can print letters using glue and sand.
What You Need:
•sand
•construction paper
•glue
•powdered tempera paint
•containers for sand
•popsicle sticks for the glue
What You Do:
- Adults, on a piece of construction paper in block letters write the child's name
- Then have the child put glue on the letters - and then put different colors of sand on the glue.
- You can color the sand by adding powdered tempera paint to the sand. See below for instructions.
Pour some sand into an empty container. Choose a colour of powdered tempera and add some to the sand. You will have to mix the sand and the tempera to see how little or how much tempera you need. For more vibrant colours add more tempera.
