ICE CUBE RAINBOWS

Skills/Objective:
Color recognition, Observe freezing
What You Need:
- clear pitchers
- spoons
- water
- food coloring
- ice cube trays
What You Do:
- Decide how many colors you would like to make and have pitchers of clear water ready.
- Have children observe the clear water, then add one color to each pitcher, observe the color changes.
- Have children pour the colored water into ice cube trays, trying not to mix colors unless you want a secondary color
- Place trays in freezer.
- Remove after frozen. Have children pop the colored cubes out.
- Observe the new texture and have them arrange the pieces like a rainbow then allow the children to play with the cubes.
