A warm day outside or a covered work area indoors.
Water-based paint in the primary colors (red, yellow and blue).
Containers for the paint.
WHAT YOU DO:
Make a wall or floor mural together.
Either lay the paper on the ground or attach it to a wall or hang it from a clothes line.
Mix up some trays of tempera paint in the primary colors.
Put one object in each tray, a shaving brush, a foam brush, a tennis ball.
Children can let the tennis ball drop on the paper and make a big color splash (children should nt be encouraged to throw the tennis ball if the paper is hanging rather than laying on the ground).
Paint can be put in a spray bottle and sprayed on the paper.
The colors will run and blend into wonderful designs and shapes.
