MUSICAL SHAKERS
Submitted by: Ann Newton - parent, teacher & artist, Connolly Primary School, Perth, Western Australia WHAT YOU NEED: - Small plastic drink bottles
- Bright coloured paints
- Paintbrushes
- Rice, pasta, sand etc.
WHAT YOU DO:- Children paint their drink bottle, by holding upside down with their hand on the lid.
- Encourage children to cover the whole bottle with different coloured paints.
- When dry, these can be filled with rice/uncooked pasta/coloured sand etc. A varietyof materials is recommended as this gives a variety of sounds.
- These can then be used as musical instruments during music/movement activities
