WHAT YOU NEED:
White construction paper
A brown crayon
A tray of water colors
Dish of water
WHAT YOU DO:
Encourage the student to draw the trunk and branches of a tree.
Have them look at a real tree out the window.
Then have them dip their index finger into the water and rub it onto a water color tablet.
Using an up and down printing motion, the student makes finger prints of color over the tree.
This is great for a season by season lesson on how trees change throughout the season.
Use green for summer, reds/yellows/oranges for fall, white for winter and lime green for spring with perhaps cherry or apples blossoms using a little finger print.
