Activity Summary:
Young children can create objects and animals using pattern blocks. They can they write stories based on their creations.
What You Need:
•pattern blocks
•white paper
•construction paper
•crayons
•pencil
What You Do:
 
- Have children create something with the pattern blocks such as a butterfly, bat, boat, boy, etc. They get surprisingly creative on their own.
- Once they have created their objects, help them trace the images onto white construction paper.
- Cut pictures out and paste them onto construction paper.
- Let children dictate a story to you about their drawings.
